Recognizing this shift, designer Sonia Ponka created the Quadro Qusabi Shelving System to address the changing demands of contemporary living.

The Quadro Qusabi Shelving System stands out for its flexibility, versatility, and multifunctionality. The system consists of posts, shelves, drawers, and stoppers, all designed to be easily assembled and reassembled without the need for tools. The posts come in three lengths - 840cm, 1320cm, and 1960cm - providing options for various room sizes and configurations.

What sets the Quadro Qusabi Shelving System apart is its unique wedged design. Qusabi, meaning "wedge" in Japanese, are inserted into the openings of the posts at the desired height. Shelves and drawers are then placed on these wedges, creating a stable and secure storage solution. The system allows for endless combinations, enabling users to customize their storage space according to their needs and preferences.

With a smallest shelf size of 280 square cm, the Quadro Qusabi Shelving System offers a range of options for organizing and displaying items. Additional shelves are available in sizes 8cm wider or longer, providing even more versatility. The system can be easily expanded by adding new posts and shelves, allowing it to grow with the user's changing needs.

The Quadro Qusabi Shelving System was designed by Sonia Ponka in Kyoto, Japan, about a year ago. Ponka's research into multifunctional and system goods development, as well as consumer demands for traditional furniture pieces, informed the creation of this innovative shelving system.

The Quadro Qusabi Shelving System has received recognition for its exceptional design. In 2012, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate a combination of practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial requirements.
